Mission Statement

The following is a brief breakdown of the mission statement:

Equip
Webster’s Dictionary defines equip as “to make ready.”  EI4G wants to help make Christians ready to evangelize effectively when the opportunity arises. The Bible provides an example when Paul equipped and modeled for Barnabas in both Acts 13:2 and Acts 14:1.

Washington, DC
Within the Washington, DC area reside some of the most influential people on earth.  Although EI4G’s efforts are not specifically targeted towards influential individuals, the organization wants to take advantage of this attractive opportunity.  If EI4G’s efforts happen to influence a leader to accept Jesus Christ, he or she may very well have a huge evangelistic impact on his or her home city, state or country.  This is an added benefit unique to Washington, DC.

Effective Resources
EI4G researches, recommends and promotes resources to help Christians evangelize and non-Christians get closer to Jesus Christ.

EI4G grants its Partners access to EI4G.org which provides resources in the form of songs, books, movies, sermons, interactive forums, other Christian websites and more.

Help Evangelize
EI4G will teach, encourage and empower its Partners to use evangelistic materials efficiently. The source of EI4G’s passion to evangelize and to help other Christians evangelize is the Bible.

Gospel of Jesus Christ
EI4G wants to be clear that evangelistic efforts are based on the divinely inspired Word of God.  Jesus Christ is at the center of EI4G’s efforts.  God’s Word, both Old and New Testaments, with a focus upon the ministry of Jesus Christ, will guide all evangelistic efforts.
Statement of Beliefs:
EI4G believes in the statements below and will use them as the basis for all activities:

The Bible is inerrant and infallible.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God…”
2 Timothy 3:16a

The Bible is the guide for all faith and practice.
“…and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16b-17

God has called us to evangelize the lost.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20

Where the Bible is clear, we will be emphatic. Where the Bible is silent, we must allow people freedom.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
2 Corinthians 3:17

“As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.”
Romans 14:1-4

Jesus Christ is God in human flesh.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:1

All people are eternally lost; salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ apart from human works.
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Luke 19:10

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-9

All ministry that is effective must be empowered by the Holy Spirit.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5

God moves in response to our united and personal prayer.
“The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
James 5:16b

The glory of God is the motive of our ministry.
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31

Core Values
The core values of EI4G are summarized below:

Biblical
Statement: We believe that Christians should maintain a Biblical perspective and must also be bold, creative and culturally relevant with our evangelistic efforts.

Explanation: The Word of God is our highest authority for matters of doctrine and life. We also acknowledge that while God’s Word never changes, the methods for communicating His Word do change. We are committed to being bold, creative and relevant in the way we communicate the timeless principles of Scripture to those living or working in Washington, DC. We will take into account data collected from research so that we can be more effective while helping Christians impact non-Christians.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17

“preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”
2 Timothy 4:2

Prayer
Statement: We believe a commitment to prayer is vital to the success of EI4G and, whether or not you are associated with EI4G, ultimately to the realization of God’s plan for each of our individual lives.

Explanation: Human effort alone cannot change hearts and lives, only God can. Without the power of God at work in EI4G, we will accomplish nothing. Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing”
(John 15:5).

By involving God via prayer, all things are possible (Philippians 4:13). The greater our humility and dependence on God through prayer, the more we will accomplish for Christ’s kingdom. And he can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

“praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,”
Ephesians 6:18

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
Philippians 4:6

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.”
Colossians 4:2

Outreach
Statement: We believe Christians are called to share their faith with non-Christians through words and actions.

Explanation: Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed is more than just obedience. It’s a joy and a privilege that God has given each of us to make an impact on eternity. It’s an intriguing opportunity to be able to offer someone eternal life just by making minimal effort.

“And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” Mark 16:15

“but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you;”
1 Peter 3:15

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
Romans 1:16

“They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,”
1 Timothy 6:18

Stewardship
Statement: We believe God calls Christians to discover and use their God-given gifts of time, talent and money generously and cheerfully.

Explanation: We recognize that everything we have belongs to God. We are not owners but stewards of all God has given us. We strive to be responsible in the way we manage the resources God has given us and we generously and cheerfully support the work of God, specifically in Washington, DC.

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:”
1 Peter 4:10

“As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,”
1 Timothy 6:17-18

Partnering
Statement: EI4G is a part of the body of Christ and will seek others in the body of Christ to collectively spread God’s Word.

“Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”
1 Corinthians 12:27

Organization Philosophy
Philosophy (Webster’s Dictionary): “the most general beliefs, concepts, and attitudes of an individual or group.”

Below is a brief description of EI4G’s philosophy:

Identify with People
EI4G will meet people where they’re at in terms of their relationship with God. This is why EI4G conducts surveys to find out why people don’t believe in Jesus Christ or don’t evangelize.

Prayer for All
It is extremely important that EI4G and everyone associated with EI4G to keep the process in prayer and ask for God’s guidance. Although EI4G has been given a mission by God, the organization understands that it will only achieve its potential by listening to God and following His lead.

Called to Evangelize
The Bible contains many verses which call Christians to evangelize and EI4G intends to comply.

Eternal Rewards Far Outweigh Temporary Sacrifices
Christians can’t evangelize while in Heaven so they must take the time now to do so. Helping someone experience eternal life with the Creator of the world is the greatest gift anyone can ever give. It’s an honor that God has given us and it should be utilized as much as possible. Romans 8:18 summarizes that rewards far outweigh sacrifices nicely:

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

Biblically-Based Resources
EI4G is well-aware of the extreme importance of recommending Biblically factual information. Any books, sermons, music or other recommended resources will be thoroughly reviewed for the Biblical accuracy of its content and then, and only then, will it be recommended by EI4G.
Supportive Bible Verses
The inspiration and driving force behind EI4G is the Bible. God’s Word contains many verses that encourage followers of Jesus Christ to spread the Gospel. The following verses are a small sample of verses showing God’s desire for all Christians to inform others about His Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible verses are from the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Book of Matthew:

“Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’”
Matthew 9:37-38

“And he told them many things in parables, saying: ‘A sower went out to sow.  And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away. Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears, let him hear.’”
Matthew 13:3-9

“When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path. As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away. As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.”
Matthew 13:19-23

“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”
Matthew 28:18-20
Name and Logo
Eternal Investments for God, Inc. has chosen its name and the colors for its logo based on the following:

Eternal
Webster’s Dictionary defines eternal as “characterized by abiding fellowship with God” and “valid or existing at all times.” The activities and efforts of EI4G are designed to have an impact of increased fellowship between God and both Christians and non-Christians. EI4G also conducts activities that will have a never-ending effect, and evangelizing on behalf of God is certainly valid, as Webster’s mentions. Those that accept Jesus Christ as a result of EI4G’s efforts will experience eternal life (John 3:36). Therefore, EI4G’s efforts will have an eternal impact.

Investments
EI4G will invest its time and money on activities that have an eternal impact. Investing in God’s eternal, never-ending Kingdom is one of EI4G’s commitments to Him.

For God
We were created by Him and we are to live our lives for Him.

Scarlet
Oftentimes in the Bible scarlet refers to blood atonement and sacrifice. Scarlet was chosen as a symbol of the sacrifice made by those involved with EI4G. Investments of both time and money are sacrifices made for the glory of God and the expansion of His Kingdom.

In addition, scarlet was also used a great deal in the tabernacle (Exodus 25:4), it was a mark of prosperity (2 Samuel 1:24; Proverbs 31:21) and it was the color of the robe placed on Jesus (Matthew 27:28).

Amber
The color amber symbolizes the glory of God. It also represents God’s overbearingly bright and immediate presence (Ezekial 1:4, 1:27, 8:2). EI4G’s efforts to help expand God’s Kingdom are to bring glory to God.

The logo is service marked in the state of Virginia and will be in Washington, DC once the need arises.
